Operational efficiency and cost optimisation is the leading organic growth priority in South Africa, selected by 43% of respondents compared with 33% globally. Product, service and business-model innovation follows at 33%, while pricing and revenue management is cited by 30%, almost double the global result of 17%.
These priorities show that South African CEOs are focused on improving both the resilience and the economics of the existing business. Cost discipline remains important, but it sits alongside innovation and sharper revenue management. The objective is not simply to reduce cost; it is to create a stronger platform from which to grow.
