I started at EY back in October 2014, after being offered an employment contract during a selection weekend back in Brussels. Ever since, I have worked at the same department and I’m still loving the smaller familiar atmosphere of EY Brussels.
What attracted me the most was the people. I had an immediate feeling of being part of a family — and have made many friends for life.
As I started as an assistant at EY, I slowly grew into the different roles; first as senior in audit and later as Audit Manager.
I was always guided by mentors who have helped me throughout all my roles.
There was also always the opportunity to reach out to our Audit partners too for support and guidance.
Currently, I am an audit manager within the Audit FSO Brussels practice. My role involves steering different engagements in the right direction, ensuring that the final report is delivered on time. As the laws and regulations are constantly evolving, Banking, Insurance and Real Estate is a rapidly moving market, and there is always something new to discuss and discover which I love.
I try to give back what I got from my seniors in my initial days. I do my best to be available to help my assistants and seniors when needed. I try to share work to help the other assistants and seniors, so we can get the work done on time. I also have a quite practical side, which enables me to organize an audit in an efficient way, making sure that enough resources are available to execute the audit.
My advice
Being part of EY family has been very great during these challenging times.
With the “we’re in this together” vibe, you are never alone at EY. There is always someone who has had experience with the issue or questions you face. For me, it is the right place to develop and grow.
